Costs

At YouByYou Books we hope to provide you with a cherished book at a sensible price.

Each book is individually costed. You choose the size, the finish and the number of copies, to suit your budget.

There is no charge for our first meeting with you. At this point we will discuss the various publication options open to you. We will also look at your written and illustrative material and tell you how long it will take for your book to be published. After the meeting we will give you a written quotation. YouByYou Books guarantees that the final cost of the book will not exceed this quotation, based on the material you have shown us.

Examples

Below are some examples of costs. As your book will be individually priced, these figures are intended for illustration purposes only.

Example 1 Saddle-stitched book
Up to 50 pages (approx. 10,000 words), 20 pictures, black and white, saddle-stitched (stapled), 20 copies. From £750

Example 2 Paperback book
Up to 150 pages (approx. 35,000 words), 30 pictures, colour, paperback, 40 copies. From £1,700

Example 3 Hardback book
Up to 170 pages (approx. 40,000 words), 40 pictures, colour, hardback (clothbound with dust jacket), 10 copies. From £2,250

Example 4 Leather-bound book
Up to 200 pages (approx. 50,000 words), 40 pictures, colour, leather-bound, 2 copies. From £2,500

Payment

We ask for payment in three instalments: the first is on completion of the written and edited manuscript; the second is after the book has been designed and the pages laid out, ready for printing; and the third is on delivery of your finished copies.

You are free to leave the project at any time. You will only owe money for work already completed. We do not ask you to sign a contract although our quotation to you is binding on our part.
