Biddenden in Pictures - Biddenden Local History Society

 

A pictorial history in photographs and postcards is published by Biddenden Local History Society. The book includes previously unpublished old photographs of people, places and events in the village, including photographs of the King and Queen of Siam at Vane Court, as seen on BBC South East Today.

Other pictures include a photograph of the murder of the Sunday school teacher in 1899, the High Street in the 1880s, life in the hop gardens and, of course, the famous Biddenden twins, Elisa and Mary Chulkhurst.
