How It Works

Forty years a potter, by william barham

Author William Barham approached YouByYou with his unedited manuscript of the life and work of Dorothy Watson, a 20th century potter, who worked in London and Kent. The manuscript was then edited in the office, referring to William for approval of changes.

William takes up the story: “Anna (of YouByYou) identified and brought together the team of editor, photographer and designer which she managed throughout. She efficiently dealt with all the image and copyright issues, knowing exactly how to resolve various complexities that came about.

“She had a fine eye for the text and the balance of images, consulting with me over every recommendation and change. She also put an immense amount of work into the final printing stage, the covers and paper weights, the graphics and tones, reading and rereading the proofs to iron everything out. The project proceeded without any difficulties.”

Overseeing every stage of the process was key to the success of the project. Copies were checked at the printers before delivery to William.
